We received European WEEE compliance on May 5 th, 2005. Valco Melton agrees with the European Union's
efforts to recycle electronic equipment and to reduce the waste that it generates. All current Valco and Melton brand products are evaluated. Products are regulated by the Waste Electronics and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Directive and are compliant. Each of our electrical products has been properly marked with the WEEE symbol.

RoHS is a European directive that requires products shipped to the EU do not contain certain hazardous substances. These include the use of Lead, Hexavalent Chromium, Mercury, Polybrominated Biphenyls, Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers, and Cadmium in the design of WEEE regulated equipment . There are requirements for the limited use of these materials (0.1% by weight in most cases, 0.01% by weight for Cadmium). Since our involvement with this initiative, Valco Melton works to eliminate any use of these materials in current product designs and to meet RoHS compliance for the future.
