Full Sheet Transfer

Efficiency on a tissue machine is very important to reduce total cost per ton of tissue and increase machine production. Often overlooked is the efficiency in the reel section of the machine.  Upon finishing a parent roll of tissue, tissue machines use a tail threader to run a small width of tissue to the new core. Once the ‘tail’ catches to the new core, then the sheet is brought back to full width. ‘Full sheet transfer’ methods allow for the full sheet to catch on the new core without using a tail threader.  This method of starting a new roll allows for a fast and efficient sheet transfer, reducing lost time.
