Valco Melton offers dispensing systems for the hot melt PSAs and UV-curable acrylic hot melt PSAs that are commonly used in medical tape and self-adhesive dressing manufacturing.
When working with UV-curable acrylic hot melt PSAs, the increased viscosity of the material requires higher melting rates. For this application, D-Drum unloaders are ideally suited as a pre-melter, working in conjunction with a SmartMelt Series buffer tank for thermal stabilization and adhesive dosing control.
To guarantee the required precision in adhesive distribution tolerance, Akura M applicators feature an automatic grammage adjustment system that carefully controls grammage across the full coating width. These applicators are specifically designed to perform at the lowest grammages while maintaining a streak-free finish.
Akura M applicators also perform well in non-contact applications. By keeping the die from making direct contact with the surface, these applicators achieve a homogeneous coating even on breathable materials, heat-sensitive materials, or substrates with uneven or irregular surfaces.
