Handle Attachment and Handle Patch

In the bag manufacturing process, handles are made of paper or string and attached to the handle patch with cold glue, hot melt, or both. The patch is then glued to the inside of the bag. Valco Melton supports this process with high-speed electric valves that ‘stitch’ adhesive onto the handle patch and bag, placing it precisely where needed. We also offer versatile applicators that can apply separate lines of adhesive or full coverage. Combination cold glue/hot melt systems are particularly beneficial for this application as cold glue creates a strong bond and hot melt gives a fast tack to hold the handle/patch in place while the cold glue sets.
