FoldChek is ClearVision's folding inspection system. It takes a picture of every manufacturer's gap on the line and checks for lead gap, trail gap, skew, flap misfold, and glue squeeze out on kraft boxes. When a defect is found, FoldChek can sound an alarm to alert operators or be programmed to mark defective boxes so they can be removed later. An image of each defect is saved to the inspection record.
FoldChek is also a real-time process control tool. As the order runs, average lead and trail gap measurements display in an SPC chart format. Operators use this feedback to adjust the machine to the target gap width and keep more product inside spec. Live Cp and Cpk values display during the run, giving operators and quality teams the data to assess folding performance.
FoldChek works on upfold and downfold configurations. It can be added to existing specialty folder gluers and flexo folder gluers.
